The Next Stitch:

The Future of Fashion

Established in 2019 to put an end to harmful environmental and socio-economic practices within the Fashion industry, the UN Fashion Alliance committee has helped nations collaborate to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s). Through this committee, delegates will be encouraged to debate and collaborate on plausible solutions to help mitigate the various conflicts preventing global governance from achieving greater sustainability within the fashion industry.

Member States working together within the alliance will address pressing matters around the environmental, economic, cultural, and legal challenges created by the negative impacts of the global fashion industry. Over the past years, the fashion industry has intensified tensions between socioeconomic development, cultural preservation, and environmental stability. These tensions have now led to serious complications that cross borders and, consequently, affect countries, international organizations, and private companies.

In this GA heavy specialized agency, delegates are expected to negotiate, draft, and develop resolutions surrounding two main topics: Marine life & Biodiversity, and Intellectual Property& Cultural Heritage
